Suzuki Powers Canadiens Past Hurricanes 3-1

Nick Suzuki scored two goals and assisted on another as the Montreal Canadiens defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 on Sunday, extending their winning streak to five games.

The Canadiens outscored Carolina 3-0 in the second period after Andrei Svechnikov's first-period power-play goal gave the Hurricanes an early 1-0 lead. Suzuki tied the game at 1-1 at 6:18 of the second before Cole Caufield put Montreal ahead with 3:13 remaining in the period, followed by a power-play goal with 15 seconds left.

Montreal has now won all three regular-season meetings against the Metropolitan Division-leading Hurricanes. Suzuki leads the Canadiens with 91 points, tallying five goals and 12 assists in his last 10 games as Montreal battles for playoff position in the Atlantic Division.
