Michigan State, Lansing Lugnuts Set New Crosstown Showdown Format

Michigan State baseball and the Lansing Lugnuts will face off in a unique exhibition format on Wednesday at Jackson Field.

The 2026 Crosstown Showdown will feature a "Banana Ball" style game with pitching machines, a two-hour time limit, and no bunting or stealing. Fans catching home runs can exchange them for autographed memorabilia, while each batter gets six pitches to put the ball in play.
