Clay Holmes and Tobias Myers combined on a 3‑hit, 7‑inning effort as the Mets shut out the Giants 9‑0. Mark Vientos had a three‑hit night and Tyrone Taylor hit a pinch‑hit three‑run homer.

The Mets’ pitchers were on fire Saturday, with Holmes going seven innings, allowing only one baserunner, and Myers capping the shutout by retiring the final six batters in order. The 9‑0 win marked the Mets’ first shutout of the season.
