Leoni Set for Liverpool Return by Month's End

Liverpool's £26m defender Giovanni Leoni is on course to return to first-team training by the end of this month, just months after his debut ended with an ACL injury.

Leoni, signed from Parma last summer, tore his ACL on his debut against Southampton in the EFL Cup. The 19-year-old is expected to make his comeback after the club's defensive reshuffle, which includes the arrivals of Ifeanyi Ndukwe and Jeremy Jacquet in the summer.

Leoni is considered a fundamental piece of Liverpool's defensive plan, with the club having invested heavily in the youngster as a cornerstone for the future. Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate is linked with a move to Real Madrid, while Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk face contract expiries in 2027.
