Golfer Gary Woodland Diagnosed With PTSD Following Brain Surgery

Former U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland has revealed he was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder shortly after undergoing brain surgery to remove a benign tumor.

Woodland underwent scans after experiencing panic attacks and was found to have a tumor pressing on the part of his brain that controls fear. He described waking up in the middle of the night, feeling like "everything was going to kill me."

Despite returning to the PGA Tour and winning the Houston Open in 2026, Woodland stated he often feels like he is "living a lie" inside while fans celebrate his return.
