Bello's Debut Marred by Robbed Strikeout, Early Exit

Red Sox rookie Brayan Bello’s season debut was cut short after a robbed strikeout and a walk forced him out of the game, leaving him with 4.2 innings, 8 hits and 6 runs.

In his first MLB start, Brayan Bello pitched 4.2 innings for the Boston Red Sox, allowing 8 hits and 6 runs while striking out only twice. After recording the third out in the bottom of the fifth, a walk forced him out of the game in a 9-2 loss at Daikin Park. Bello said he felt a strike was missed and the sequence was odd, noting the errors that followed his three consecutive strikeouts of Astros outfielder Cam Smith.
